Advent 3: A prayer

8:00 AM

Jesus your coming into the world meant,
the blind received their sight, the lame walked,
the lepers were cleansed, the deaf heard,
the dead were raised, and the poor had good news brought to them.
We pray your coming again means this and more.
We pray it means healing for the land,
Joyous song breaking out everywhere,
Bright colors and deeper hues will be seen everywhere.
Flowing waters will appear where there was once dry beds.
Cool air will ease the furious heat.
We pray your coming will have people being kind and loving to each other.
No more harsh and rude words or violence used.
We pray for that day.
We pray our hearts are being prepared for that day.
Grant us the patience and strength we will need to continue to wait.
Transform our lives in the ways that need to be changed
in order to live in peace with others.
Let us stop judging and criticizing each other,
So that we can love others the way God loves us.
So that as we wait in the meantime we are living
our lives in a way that points the way to you.
Come Lord Jesus come.
